Darren,

Quick question for you - is there an easy/quick way to get a 1/2 hour or so of VHS video tape onto mpeg/avi/wmv?

Of course.

- Install crappy (or pro) video capture software
and a Firewire cable/card.
- Free up your harddrive.
- Capture and 'Save as'...

...stuff like Premiere Pro will give you all the
'save as' options you'll ever need - .DVAVI, stream-
able Quicktime, MPEG2 etc. With the cheaper stuff,
you may not get that.

Pros go to the next step..

- 'Save as' .DVAVI (full screen/CD audio/broad-
cast quality video, etc.)
- Grab Dr.DivX and let him convert it into DivX.

The differences are laughably marginal. At
broadcast quality settings:-

30 mins of .DVAVI is roughly 20gigabytes.
30 mins of .DivX is about 450megs.

Three things of note:

- There was more promotional stuff on the Rag
Dolls vid than I remembered.
- The quality of the early Rich Bitch vid is
better than I remembered. (There'll be a clip
of this too, tommorrow).
- I can't find Sinful Kixx CD.

The Rag Dolls stuff is rare stuff indeed. I got
the unedited footage from Brian (Rich Bitch):
'Please don't copy it for anyone, or I'm in
trouble.'

In 10-odd years, I've only ever taped it for one
person: Andii.

Then again, like the private Rich Rags vids I
have here, who give a toss anymore, right?

Good bloody vid this was. Especially the TV appearance on that show hosted by Pepsi Tate. (I think we were in the Koolers Daz on a Friday night when that aired and you taped it?).
